RADIX is another unique product from Pisharodi Surgicals, Inc. developed by Madhavan Pisharodi, MD and approved by FDA for cervical instrumentation. RADIX has cervical plates of varying lengths for multilevel cervical instrumentation and unique screws with bulb like head that can roll inside a collar. The screw collar has threads running in a counter-clockwise direction in its outer circular circumference. The ball and socket like arrangement between the screw and the screw collar would allow multi-axial insertion of the screw without changing the horizontal alignment of the screw collar with the plate. The plate has screw holes with threads running in counter-clockwise direction in its inner circumference that match the screw threads on the outer circumference of the screw collar.

The system is designed to resist the pullout forces due to vibration/ micro-motion in two ways: 1. Locking mechanism between the screw and the plate that would get reinforced by the vibratory forces; 2. Allowing angular movement of the screw that can reduce the stress on the screw by the micro motion. 3. Creating angles for the insertion of the screws in both medio-lateral and rostro-caudal directions thereby producing triangulation to increase pullout resistance.
